Let’s be honest: Octordle is a beast.
You already know the drill. While Wordle gives you one nice, neat five-letter word to figure out, Octordle asks for eight of them. Simultaneously. And you’ve only got 13 guesses to crack them all.
If you’ve ever found yourself staring at the grid, muttering “What on earth is the third word supposed to be?” – you’re not alone. I’ve spent way too many hours cycling through random words, hoping one of them sticks.
So if today’s puzzle (May 6) has you feeling stuck, don’t worry. I’ve got your back. Below you’ll find gentle hints first, then the full answers if you just want to get on with your day.

Quick Reminder: How Octordle Actually Works
New to Octordle? Or just need a rules refresher? Here’s the short version.
In Wordle, you solve for one word. In Octordle, you solve for eight separate five-letter words at the same time. Every guess you make applies to all eight grids at once. That’s what makes it tricky – and what makes it satisfying when you finally crack it.
You get 13 guesses total. After each guess, you’ll see three color hints:
- 🟩 Green – The letter is correct and in the right position (for that specific word).
- 🟧 Orange – The letter is correct but in the wrong position within that word.
- ⬜ Gray – The letter isn’t in that word at all.
The challenge is balancing your guesses across all eight grids. One good tip: start with a few vowel-heavy words to test multiple possibilities at once. Then narrow down based on the colored feedback.

A Final Word – You’ve Got This
Octordle isn’t supposed to be easy. If it were, it’d just be another Wordle clone. The real fun (and the real frustration) comes from juggling eight words at once, watching the greens and oranges slowly add up, and finally seeing all eight grids light up.
So take a breath. Use the hints if you need them. And if you’re truly stuck – that’s what the answers are for.
Now go finish today’s puzzle and come back tomorrow for the next round.
